Case 1: DK editorial content
The client
Dorling Kindersley (part of the Penguin Group) is one of Britain’s largest travel publishers. For the first in a new series of guides under its innovative and successful Eyewitness brand, it needed several thousand restaurant and hotel reviews covering the whole of France.

The solution
The Content Works provided Dorling Kindersley with a one-stop-shop solution. We helped DK to define exact requirements and together we created a detailed brief, based on which our freelance contributors in the regions researched, recommended and wrote reviews. Templates for data entry ensured correct formatting; our editors undertook rigorous checks on style and accuracy. We also flowed the texts into QuarkXpress and delivered the copy ready for print.
The result
DK received thousands of ready-to-use, fully edited reviews all from one source. This saved them hassle and money. The book, France: Best Places to Eat & Stay, was published early May 2004 and won the Golden Ladle for Best Food Guide Book at the World Food Media Awards 2005.
